About the Founder
My name is Bella De Almeida, an art dealer with Galería La Cometa and the founder of The Living Room — a space born from my lifelong passion for connection: with people, with art, with community, and with the endless stories that different pieces hold.
My path began at Duke University, where I started a small community for emerging artists that quickly grew into something much larger — art auction shows every few months and gatherings every two weeks, first on campus and later in Miami, New York, and Shanghai. Those years taught me that art’s true magic lies in its ability to bring people together — to create dialogue, curiosity, and shared understanding.
That same desire to care for artists led me to create Earthy Art, a sustainable art-supplies company dedicated to helping artists stay healthy and protect the environment while creating work that matters. From there, I began advising collectors, traveling to art fairs around the world, and continually learning from the cultural nuances and visual languages behind each piece I encountered. Eventually, my journey led me to Galería La Cometa, where I’ve had the privilege of placing important contemporary and modern works in the homes of passionate collectors and deepening the relationships that give art its meaning.
The Living Room is the child of all those experiences — a space that blends my love for art, human connection, and cross-cultural discovery. It’s a home for dialogue, intimacy, and warmth; a place where art is not simply displayed but lived, shared, and felt.
